If you care about the past and you’re thinking about your future this could be exactly the next job you’re looking for. The Museum of the Broads is largely volunteer run. A new role, this is one of two key positions created, along with Operations Manager, to take the museum into the next, exciting, phase of development.

Located in Stalham, the museum is dedicated to bringing the stories of the Broads alive.

Responsible for the recruitment, training and deployment of our volunteer teams across the museum, with particular focus on our front of house and boat management teams you will manage the day-to-day running of the volunteer programme.

Your role as Volunteer Manager will be key to ensuring all of our visitors and volunteers feel welcomed and supported.

Working closely with the Operations Manager you will report to the Trustees.

Your key tasks and objectives will include –

*Recruiting new volunteers

*Overseeing support and development of volunteers

*Ensuring effective and consistent communications with the volunteer force

*Being the key point of contact with Boats, Front of House and Retail teams

Vitally you will foster a culture of ongoing learning across the volunteer team, working with the Trustees to ensure all volunteers are aware of the aims and values of our museum.
