Volunteer at the Museum
“Since coming to the Museum I’ve learnt a lot and people want my skills here. I’ve made more friends here than where I lived before.”
The Museum of the Broads depends on its team of volunteers. They are the face of the Museum, welcoming visitors of all ages, both locals and holidaymakers.
Our volunteers work at the Museum for many reasons. Some like to use their existing skills and hobbies, some want to learn new skills or get work experience. Many enjoy meeting our visitors, the social camaraderie, and making new friends. All help us to bring the stories of the Broads alive.
Volunteers are invited to training sessions at the Museum. We hold an end of season ‘thank you’ event and several other social events throughout the year. Volunteers and their families are also admitted free to the Museum.
If you are interested in joining our volunteer team please contact Susie Lay, Volunteers Manager (01692 581681) or volunteersmanager@museumofthebroads.org.uk
When possible, you will be invited to the Museum for a look around and a chat to find out which role would suit you best. Then after initial training, you will be invited to join our Museum volunteers.
Please note that all working on site must follow all Museum policies and procedures and undertake mandatory annual training.
Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you to the Museum!
