Facilities

The Museum has five buildings: Cooke’s Staithe, the Barton Building, the Surlingham Building, Wroxham Building and the Oulton Boat Shed. Outside in Friends’ Way are more Broads boats. Our steam launch, Falcon, and our electric boat, Marsh Harrier, are moored on our quayside.

There are 2 toilets available for the use of visitors.  One is accessible and has baby changing facilities.

Gift Shop & Refreshments

Our gift shop stocks souvenirs, Broads books, hot and cold drinks and light refreshments. Entry is free to the shop and cafe area.

Parking

Parking is at Richardson’s Boatyard. The museum is a short 100m walk down the road. Disabled parking is available outside the Museum.

Moorings

By boat: visitor moorings at the Museum and Richardson’s Boatyard. Overnight moorings at Stalham Staithe. Please ask at Museum Reception.

Access

We have full access, either level or ramped, to all the buildings for wheelchairs. There is a disabled access toilet with a baby changing area.

A magnifier is available for the visually impaired.

Our volunteer team members will be pleased to assist you – just ask!

Although Falcon is not fully accessible, Marsh Harrier can accept some wheelchairs.  If you don’t use a wheelchair, but can’t manage steps, borrow ours to access Marsh Harrier.  Phone for details and to book seats: 01692 581681.
