A fun family trail around the Museum with Easter prizes.  Take a trip on our steam boat, Falcon, Tues to Thurs.
Museum open Sun - Thurs (and Fri 07 and 14 April) 10am to 4pm and Sat 10am to 1pm.

If you enjoy boats or fishing, like a bargain and recycling, then this well-established sale is for you!  £1 entry.  Please phone the Museum if you would like a stall (£10).

Go Wild at Barton Turf - Sunday 14 May

​Immerse yourself in everything STEAM.   Lots of steam powered items including many boats and our own steam boat, Falcon.  Take your own steam trip down the river on Falcon (£3.50 and £2.50).  TOOT TOOT!

Father's Day: Free for all accompanied fathers 10am - 3pm
Treat Dad to a day at the Museum of the Broads and a trip on Falcon at no cost to yourself.  Sssh, we won’t tell!  Fabulous picnic area by the river.

Jazz and Beer Evening 6.30pm - 9.30pm (doors open 6pm)
Bring a picnic, chairs, family and friends, and enjoy Savoir Faire’s gypsy style Jazz by the river.  Sample the brews from Tipple’s Brewery's beer tent, and take a river trip on our steam boat, Falcon.

Entry: Adult: £10, Child (5-18): £3.  On the door or in advance.
Falcon trips (30 mins, weather permitting): Adult: £3.50, Child: £2.50

Celebrate mid summer at the Museum's social event of the year.  Don't miss it!!

Saturday  01 July  The 16th Art Challenge 10.30 for 11am - 3pm
Be INSPIRED by our historic waterside setting to draw, paint or create in our annual Art Challenge.  Includes artists working in all media.  Take advantage of personal tuition from our guest Broads artist, Suzanne Chisnell,and see if YOU will win our prestigious trophy or one of our other great prizes.

Please contact the Museum to enter.  £10 per artist to include Museum admission and light refreshments.  Please bring a packed lunch.

Saturday 08 July Grand Auction - 7pm start (viewing of items from 5pm)
​Sell and buy at the Museum with auctioneer, Bryan Baxter.
​
Items include paintings, a trip in a tiger moth, days out at local attractions, a signed Norwich City shirt and a jar of salad cream!  As featured on Radio Norfolk.

​To be opened by TV personality, Ian Masters.

Sunday 16 July  Toys and Models  Day 10am - 4pm
Meet the local collectors and enthusiasts who come together to showcase their toys and models.  Enjoy the bygone toys on display with models, some of which are working and some sail on the water.  Great for children of all ages!

Sunday 13 August  Vikings Day 10am - 4pm
The Vikings come to Stalham - again!  Did you know East Anglia was part of Danelaw in the 9th century?  Our family friendly invasion is much more fun with plenty of Viking activities for all, including discovering battle dress, shields and weaponry.

Meet our live Vikings, dress up and enjoy being a Viking for the day.  A great way to soak up the sun at our waterside Museum.

Come aboard our Viking steam boat, Falcon, for a unique river trip (£3.50 and £2.50).
​Fun for all the family.  Don't miss it!

Saturday 19 August  7pm  (doors open 6.30pm)  The Sheringham Shantymen Concert ​

Shanties and songs all served up with a dollop of Norfolk humour!  Don't miss the Shantymen by the river at Stalham Staithe.

Full bar provided by Farriers Refreshments from their Horsebox!  Enjoy a special evening at our riverside setting.

Steam to Barton Regatta on 'Falcon'  10.30am - 1.30pm

Experience the thrill of arriving at Barton Regatta by steam boat.  Enjoy watching the racing from the pontoon on Barton Broad.  Booking essential.

Falcon trips: Adult: £7.50, Child: £5.  Extra charges for Museum if you want to look around before or after your boat trip.  Museum open as normal.

Art Activity Wednesdays 
Wednesdays 09, 16, 23, 30 August  
School holiday event!
Are you inspired to create your own artwork?

The Museum is running 4 artist led workshops during August for all visitors, especially families.  Each workshop will use a different medium and you can take your artwork home with you.  Part funded through Norfolk County Council’s Arts Project Fund.
 
Wednesday 09 August – Watercolour paintings inspired by the Broads Landscape.  Led by Linda Purdy.
Wednesday 16 August – Sculpture inspired by Broads wildlife and the Museum collection.  Led by Pamela Masters.
Wednesday 23 August – Textile and Natural Materials pom pom wildlife and dragonflies.  Led by Johanne Couldrey.
Wednesday 30 August – Coloured pencil drawings inspired by the Museum's boats.  Led by Suzanne Chisnell.
 
All workshops are from 1100 to 1500, are drop in, and are included in your Museum admission.
Let us treat your admission as a donation (at no extra charge) and you can return for FREE as many times as you like for one year.  Take a trip on our Victorian steam boat, 'Falcon' (extra charges apply).

Falcon River Trips Sun to Fri in August
Enjoy a unique river trip on board our own Victorian steam boat, Falcon. Spot wildlife and revel in the sounds of steam whilst on the river.  Daily (except Sats) in August.

Normal Museum entry charges for all events, except the Heritage Open Days when entrance and activities are free. Concerts, the Boat and Fishing Jumble and the Art Challenge have separate charges.
