This afternoon, Tuesday 22 August, the Wherry White Moth is mooring overnight at the Museum. She's leaving tomorrow morning at about 1000.
And tomorrow, Wed 23 August, is the 3rd of our Art Activity Wednesdays. Jo Couldrey will be making pom pom animals and creating dragonflies too. Come along and join the fun. You can take your creations home with you!
Summer holiday fun! #makeitStalham
1,000 years after Dane Law finished in Norfolk, yesterday, Sun 13 August, the Museum was invaded by Danes going A Viking!
The Museum hosted the re-enactment group, Dragonshield, who entertained our visitors with superb displays of sword, axe and shield defence.
Sam and Gemma trained young Viking warriors in the art of evading wet sponges with shields and taught them to wear battledress, and roar!
Pamela and Jenny painted many faces (including mine, but no photos!!) and Anne, Robin and Grace helped to make Viking inspired brooches out of copper.
And, best of all, thanks to Dave F and the crew, we had our very own, unique, steam powered Viking Long Ship!
Watch out for next August...
